Year 10 students attend the Maths Enrichment event at Queen Mary University of London
Year 10 Maths students visited Queen Mary University of London where they engaged in mathematical lectures. The event was aimed to promote mathematics beyond GCSE and to support students in making an informed choice about Level 3 Maths. Talks included discussing Ada Lovelace, the first computer programmer, and the contributions she made to the mathematics we use today. Students also got involved in debating ‘Fake News’ where they analysed headlines and learnt how maths skills can be used to stop us from blindly believing everything we read in the paper, see on TV or follow on social media.
