These internships provide you with the opportunity to get on-the-job experience as a teacher.<\/p>\n<p>The programme for interns is <strong>3 weeks<\/strong> long in the summer term and will be from <strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> June \u2013 24<sup>th<\/sup> June 2022. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To qualify, you must be an undergraduate studying a STEM-related degree and be interested in teaching secondary maths, physics or computing.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll experience the teaching profession, develop new skills and be paid \u00a3300 per week.<\/p>\n<p>The programme will offer a range of structured activities to gain a deep experience of teaching:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a combination of teaching, running subject-related projects, offering intensive support for children who are struggling, helping with experiments and laboratory work<\/li>\n<li>structured training, shadowing and lesson observation followed by a chance to jointly plan and deliver lessons<\/li>\n<li>access to one-to-one mentors who are good or outstanding classroom teachers in their specialism<\/li>\n<li>opportunities to network with qualified subject specialists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You will also benefit from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>continued contact with mentor post programme<\/li>\n<li>support to make an application for\u00a0ITT<\/li>\n<li>guarantee of an interview for any\u00a0ITT\u00a0places that you apply to within our partnership<\/li>\n<li>keep in touch events after the programme is complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Participant eligibility:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current undergraduate in any year of study<\/li>\n<li>STEM undergraduates only looking to teach mathematics, physics or computing in England in the future<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>International students:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Overseas students studying in the UK can take part, but interns must be considering training to teach in England.<\/p>\n<p><u>Geographical area for partner schools\u2019 internship placements:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barking and Dagenham<\/li>\n<li>Havering<\/li>\n<li>Southend-on-Sea<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks<\/u><\/p>\n<p>All interns must have a DBS check.
