Year 11 Student, Scott Chitty, Wins Local Final of FutureChef Competition

Yesterday, Scott Chitty in Year 11 had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Local Final of the FutureChef Competition at Newham College, and we couldn’t be prouder of what unfolded!

Scott faced an incredible challenge: to prepare, cook, and serve a main course dish for two people on a budget of just £5—while also ensuring the dish had personal significance. With only 60 minutes on the clock, he delivered under the watchful eyes of five professional chef judges, competing against three other talented students from two schools.

Scott wowed everyone with his creative and skilful dish: fish with potato scales and parmesan broccoli.

We’re thrilled to announce that Scott was one of two winners who will move on to the FutureChef Regional Final on 11 February! As he prepares for the next stage, Scott will be mentored by Sanjay Jadhav, Executive Chef at Marriott Hotel Canary Wharf, to perfect his next dish and take his skills to the next level.

Congratulations to Scott on this outstanding achievement.
