The 2014 Barking and Dagenham Athletics Championships was one to remember for Riverside students as they continued their successful summer of sport with many individual and team awards to add to their growing trophy cabinet.

Individual winers from Year 7 were Muhammed Mohammed who ran a superb 1500m race to finish in 1st place winning Gold medal and also Tolu Oso who also excelled in the 800m finishing in 3rd place, winning Bronze medal.

Year 8 athletes were imperious as usual as Okechukwu and Andreya lept for silver in the Triple Jump and Long Jump respectively with Andreya adding another silver in the 800m with a fine run later in the day. However, the drama was yet to be concluded as the Year 8 girls 4x100m relay team sprinted their way to a silver medal, narrowly missing out on gold to the Robert Clack team.

All students, regardless of winning a medal or not, participated excellently on the day representing Riverside School in fine style. Bring on the 2015 Championships and further success!
