Change to Riverside School Access

Comments are off

Dear Parents and Carers,

Change to Riverside School Access

From Wednesday 13th September access to the Riverside School from the temporary access road off Renwick Road is closed (privately owned by Barking Riverside Limited – BRL).  The school is only accessible via the new Drovers Road, of which the junction is next to the Sunday Market. The secondary students’ school entrance has also changed and is now at the rear of the premises adjacent to the E1 bus stop on Drovers Road. The EL1 will drop passengers conveniently outside the gate of the school.

Students who walk or cycle must also use Drovers Road to access the school and the distance is 10 minutes further on foot than the presently used BRL access path. Parents wishing to drop their students off at school must use the drop-off zone along Drovers Road before reaching the school and then follow the loop in the road to turn around. Stopping on double yellow lines or performing a U-turn will incur a fine by BRL. Please see the advice form BRL shown on the back of this letter.

The reason for this change is to begin the building of the railway station, a health centre and leisure facility.

The reception area at the front of school is now ONLY for guests, visitors and disabled access. Thank you for your co-operation.
